Mimi Nguyen Cafe at JLN PPK4 / JLN Puchong

 

 

  Sudden crave of Vietnamese cuisine had brought me to pay a visit to Mimi Nguyen.

This shop will be on your right hand side if you driving along Jalan Puchong from old klang road towards Puchong.

The shop lot was quite easily recognizable due to the double-storey design utilizing underground as their base

Mimi Nguyen was on the first floor

There’s quite a number of Vietnamese having their dinner here due to the fact that this area had become little Vietnam village

so the existence of this shop is to cater the local demand I think.

The owner is Vietnamese as well and guessed what? They can speak Cantonese!

They baked their own Vietnamese baguette and you can buy them one @ RM2.40

Though the name is Mimi Nguyen café, they don’t really serve as a hang out place but more to a restaurant instead, selection of food is quite comprehensive as well

-         Com ga nuong (Vietnamese Chicken with Lemongrass) RM13.80

-         Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (Grilled Pork and Spring Rolls with dry vermicelli) RM9.80

-         Phở (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) RM11.80

-         Sinh tố bơ (Vietnamese Avocado Shake) RM9.80

 



Bánh Mì Gà Nướng (Vietnamese Roasted Chicken Sandwich)  RM8.80 – Shop selling Banh Mi in KL are mushrooming everywhere but honestlty speaking, this Banh Mi totally win over my heart, the bread is homemade and so soft, yet crunchy and crispy! The taste just right as well!

 

Bun Thit Nuong Cha Gio (Grilled Pork and Spring Rolls with dry vermicelli) RM9.80 – Pour over with sweet sour sauce, this dish seriously excite your taste bud and encourage you to eat more. Spring roll tasted so good. Combination of the vege and grilled chicken make it a perfect meal! Favourite!

Phở (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) RM11.80 – No need to explain much, must try and the soup will linger in your mouth, leaving aftertaste in your mouth. They do serve with lots of vege for you to ass into the soup, a healthy meal I suppose? LOL

         Com Tam Suon Bi Cha (Vietnamese Broken Rice with Pork) RM 12.80

      Com Ga nuong (Vietnamese Chicken with Lemongrass) RM13.80

 

Sinh tố bơ (Vietnamese Avocado Shake) RM9.80 – Not really a fans of avocado but this milkshake changed me, love the smooth texture and the fresh taste.

 

To conclude, I am so satisfied with my visit to this shop

and tust me, it’s worth a visit.

I wouldn’t say that it’s the best Vietnamese cuisine in KL but it’s the best I visited so far.

Authenticity level 100%!

I personally prefer this kind of restaurant where they only focus on business from local,

unlike so much other café/restaurant where just too much advertisement and disappointment.

 

Just hope the food standard can remain all the time.

Fried Pan Mee at Jalan Sepadu or Old Klang Road

Visited here for few times with friends and family.

One things about reason I came here is because I am an avid Pan Mee Lover, either you make them dry, wet or fried!

 

 

This Fried Pan Mee stall located under a big tree, as their name suggested, Big Tree Fried Pan Mee.

A lot of people refer them as 

Old Klan Road Fried Pan Mee

but I Call it Jalan Sepadu Fried Pan Mee.

Driving on Old Klang Road, you should see Pearl Point Shopping mall.

 

Noted that on the right side of the shopping mall, there’s a traffic light and you should turn in the junction between the Shopping Mall and the condo at the traffic light there.

Refer the Blue X Cross as your destination, Highlighted in yellow as Pearl Point

 

Then, this stall will be on your right after drive in. Not quite an obvious shop especially when you go on late evening.

 

Anyway, you can easily notice there’s quite some customer having their meal there so there shall be the place you want to look for. Since it’s near housing and shoplot area, car parking spot can be a bit hard to find.

For all the dishes, you can order them according to your pack of group:

Personally, I had tried all their dishes and I feel that all was not bad but not superb.

Is like they have a premix sauce, soup where they boiled the pork and prawn and some seasoning.

Throw everything into the WOK and fry them all at once, heated up and serve you.

I not saying that the food taste bad

 but just feel VERY HOMEY STYLE where you hardly get the smell of “WOK”

where typical CINA like me was very particular about it.  Especially when there’s a crowd and they cook in bulk,

you can’t really be picky in such situation

Anyway, their fried pan mee is still interesting as I can’t easily find them in places nearby me so I would like to recommend it.

 If you can’t find a place to sit or you need to rush back, you might want to ask for TaPAo but in term of the taste, I can’t really tell.

Malones at KLCC

After a tiring day of working,

 my clique wanted to organize a drinking session so we were scratching our head for the location.

Out of convenience, we chose Malones, an Irish Restaurant that situated in the city center at KLCC.

 

 

Aware it or not,

Guinness was a recipe introduced by Arthur Guinness and brewed in Dublin in 1759 , which still remained as one of the most successful brand of beer today.

Just when I thought that we gonna drink that famous dark black beer, we go for Tiger instead.

From Ireland back to Singapore, how ironic is it huh? LOL

 

Anyway, that’s our agenda, drink beer!

The atmosphere here in Malones wasn’t bad as we got our seat outside, facing the fountain show outside KLCC but surprisingly, the crowd for that Friday night isn’t a lot. Less crowd, more space!

Choices of food wasn’t a lot offered by Malones but no complain since we not expecting much from their food since we just need some place to chill and hang out.

Over all, the food was ok ok only but the price was a bit pricey but I do have a good time with my friends and had a good laugh there.

If you are not too desperate to find a place to sit down, or have a drink and also mind paying extra, then stay away from Malone please.

I have visited so much other Irish Bar & Restaurant which serve better food and drinks compared to Malone’s.

 

It’s KLCC, can’t complain. :P
