Garage 51 at Bandar Sunway

My last visit to Garage 51 was a year ago and decided to pay my visit again to try their messed up family drinks.
Garage 51, which established since 2013 itself gain popularity as due to mass introduction and advertisement throughout social media.  Hence i don't need to further hot sell it.
My last visit was a satisfied brunch, they do serve good poached egg and coffee which totally make my day.
This time, i'm actually quite anticipating if they can make my dinner memorable?

Here my menu:
- Mochatella
-Messed Up Family : The Father, The Son and The Cousin
-Chicken Pamigiana
-Grilled Chicken
-Special request Vege Spaghetti (not in the menu)
-Penne Basil Spinach Pesto
-Chocolate Granache Cake
-Chocolate Cheesecake

Mochatella - As one of their must try and specialty drink, still my favorite till now. Coffee cube with nutella sauce and pour over with milk? Sound sinful? Yes, it is but worth to drink!
Chicken Pamigiana
Grilled Chicken

Special request Vege Spaghetti- Avery simple spaghetti, too simple until it can be cooked by anyone who own a kitchen. Loaded with button mushroom and capsicum but this dish was the quality I expected.

Penne Spinash Pesto - The pesto sauce is refreshing and love every bite of it.
Chocolate Granache Cake - ok, this cake has no texture at all where you can feel its dryness when it touches your tongue. Everything just wrong!
Chocolate CheeseCake- Noted that the cheesecake here is non-baked. Just don't understand why people like non-baked cheesecake, the cake is too gluey and sorry to say that, it doesn't taste good.

Messed up Family Drink Series - Please note that those drink looked really tantalizing and attractive. For me, beneath the luxurious looking mask, Its just some drink which already loaded with calories, where people add more calories and extra calories. Hence, those skinny bitches beware!!
Those drink need more time during preparation i guessed since my drinks came one by one every like 15 minutes. Maybe too much work to be done?

The Cousin - Salted Caramel with Brownies on top with lotsa cream inside..... First few drink was not bad and the brownies was moist and dense, Love it! Do note that this drink can be boring and a bit too much as you drink cause the flavor is too rich and too thick, please have a friend or 2 to share! Still my favorite anyway!

The Father- Peanut Butter with chocolates so not much expectation. the drink tasted not bad but the taste is rather easy to guess. Enjoy eating the topping anyway.

The Son- Nutella with Hazelnut. This drink is less rich compared to The Cousin and hence easier to drink. The popcorn was nice but the hazelnut seemed to be too shy to appear in my taste bud.

Dinner visit was not really satisfied as quite disappointed with the cake and the spaghetti that I ordered.
For the messed up series, it's a sinful drink anyway and taste good just that maybe I order 3 and tried them all at once, it become a burden to my tongue, can't be too greedy huh?!?!

Franco at Avenue K

Franco claimed to be an French Japanese Artisanal Cafe .

Never tried their food before so just thought of having my lunch at their Avenue K outlet, it was a crowd but still managed to get a spot anyway.
Actually, I have been to the outlet at 1U when they still using their old name “Miam Miam” but only for dessert that time.
Totally disappointed last time since  the dessert was too much overated, staff was lousy, waiting time is damn long plus the food was pricey.

This time, gotta try their food with the hope that they might surprise me as their menu looked interesting.
So, after seeking recommendation from the waiter, I ordered:
-     Peanut Butter & Banana Milkshake
-     Truffle Mushroom Puff Pizza
-     Squid Ink Rice with assorted seafood and Omu Egg
-     Toffee Banana Pancake

Peanut Butter & Banana Milkshake
Tasted normal. Not Gonna Comment Much

Squid Ink Rice
Other than the rarely seen black rice, everything was extraordinarily normal and portion was small

Truffle Mushroom Puff Pizza
Presentation of the food was Surprisingly Insincere. A Must try food according to the menu but tasted like the chef throw a clump of cheese with some mushroom on some kind of oily crunchy biscuit. My taste bud was annoyed , like seriously!

Toffee Banana Pancake
Pancake topped with glazed banana, blueberry and ice cream. Combination was good but everything gone wrong when put into mouth. Ice cream taste kinda weird and glazed banana was hard. Another displeasing food

 Conclusion:
Together with my last visit their outlet in 1U for high tea and lunch in Avenue K. I can only said those food served are highly overpriced food paid to put on more calories on your body. Not gonna give them a third chance. However, still believe there’s some customer willing to visit again? Or not?

103 Coffee Workshop at Bandar Baru Sri Petaling

Visited 103 coffee workshop to try their coffee and also to find a place to chill. 103 served both coffee and Japanese cuisine

so if you up for Japanese dishes but craving for a cup of coffee, maybe give this shop a try?
Just like any other hipster café nowadays, interior decoration was almost identical but staff here was really friendly and enthusiastic.

Other than those milk based coffee, they serving 3 main method of brewing your coffee:

1. Chemex
Weaker taste coffee free of sediment as they use the Chemex Filter to filter while dripping out your coffee

2.Aeropress
The coffee carried a rich flavor due to the gentle air pressure (applied by hand) and water temperature(80o)  to brew then press the coffee out of the chamber through a mirco filter. Hence, it has lower Acidity and Bitterness. Besides, it takes only a minute or so to produce a cup of coffee

3.  Pour Over
simple brew I suppose and fastest way where barista will wet the paper filter and place it above the cup, grind and pour the coffee bean on top of the filter paper. Then simply pour over with hot water

We had ordered 3 coffee using Over Pour but different coffee bean, being COSTA RICA, EL SALVADOR & PANAME.
Paneme taste kinda bitter and a bit more expensive (RM5 extra), not really my taste
EL Salvador – Complex taste of coffee but make me feel refresh, prefer this personally.
El Salvador Coffee
Costa Rica – Acidity level was higher than I expected, luckily I am not the one ordered this!
Costa Rica
According to the Barista, they will try out their very own Cold Brew (seemed like a new trend now) using costa rica coffee bean by FEBRUARY 2016. Coffee been grind and soaked inside cold water for over 18 hours!
I can imagine the coldness with the sourness of the coffee and might come back again?

They don’t have much selection for cake here. Ordered a Jack Daniel anyway.
Jack Daniel, Texture of the cake was disappointing and the taste of JD can be stronger a bit.
