Visited 103 coffee workshop to try their coffee and also to find a
place to chill. 103 served both coffee and Japanese cuisine
so if you up for Japanese
dishes but craving for a cup of coffee, maybe give this shop a try?
Just like any other hipster café nowadays, interior decoration was
almost identical but staff here was really friendly and enthusiastic.
Other than those milk based coffee, they serving 3 main method of
brewing your coffee:
1. Chemex
Weaker taste coffee free of sediment as they use the
Chemex Filter to filter while dripping out your coffee
2.Aeropress
The coffee carried
a rich flavor due to the gentle air pressure (applied by hand) and water
temperature(80o) to brew then
press the coffee out of the chamber through a mirco filter. Hence, it has lower
Acidity and Bitterness. Besides, it takes only a minute or so to produce a cup
of coffee
3. Pour Over
simple brew I suppose
and fastest way where barista will wet the paper filter and place it above the
cup, grind and pour the coffee bean on top of the filter paper. Then simply
pour over with hot water
We had ordered 3 coffee using Over Pour but different coffee
bean, being COSTA RICA, EL SALVADOR & PANAME.
Paneme taste kinda bitter and a bit more expensive (RM5 extra), not
really my taste
EL Salvador – Complex taste of coffee but make me feel refresh, prefer this personally.
El Salvador Coffee |
Costa Rica – Acidity level was higher than I expected, luckily I am
not the one ordered this!

According to the Barista, they will try out their very own Cold Brew
(seemed like a new trend now) using costa rica coffee bean by FEBRUARY 2016. Coffee
been grind and soaked inside cold water for over 18 hours!
I can imagine the coldness with the sourness of the coffee and might
come back again?
They don’t have much selection for cake here. Ordered a Jack Daniel
anyway.
Jack Daniel, Texture of the cake was disappointing and the taste of JD can be stronger a bit. |
